Over the past two years, in October, a great and terrible rumbling was heard from the vicinity of the Still Austin Distillery near South Congress Avenue. Upon investigation by ghost hunters and whiskey enthusiasts, it was discovered that the disturbance was merely the sound of five distinct Texas grains coming together in a perfect unholy union. This year Hill Country residents should prepare to be unnerved once again, as the diabolical warlocks at Still Austin have produced the most wicked – and delicious – Monster Mash yet.

ABOUT THE WHISKEY

A wicked blend of five Texas grains – white corn, winterhawk wheat, rye, malted barley and malted rye – the 2022 Monster Mash has been aged at least four years in new American oak barrels.

MASH BILL:  63% White Corn, 17% Wheat, 10% Malted Rye, 8% Rye, 2% Malted Barley

ABOUT THE LABEL ART

As we do every year, Still Austin engaged Austin illustration legend Dan Grissom to create the 2022 Monster Mash label. Originally from rural Louisiana, Dan has been designing, painting, print-making and making music out of his garage in Austin for many years, completing celebrated posters for artists ranging from Metallica to Kings of Leon, Big Thief to Hayes Carll. This year Grissom’s beloved tree monster has gone trick-or-treating; we hope his mummy costume fools the neighborhood moms long enough for him to get away with a good candy haul.
