Distiller

Still Austin Whiskey Co. is expanding to a 24×7 production schedule, and we are looking to fill a Distiller position to provide vacation relief and to perform other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates will have previous distilled spirits experience, but we will also consider anyone with a craft beer or hard seltzer brewing/fermenting background or other food & beverage batch/blending experience.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to manage the day-to-day cycle of production in keeping the production schedule in line with weekly production.
  • Maintain all equipment in your day-to-day activities.
  • Assist in all production aspects, including mashing, fermenting, barreling.
  • Prepare barrels for filling, (i.e., swelling barrels, repairing leaks, etc.)
  • Assist in filling, weighing, gauging, labeling, and placement of barrels
  • Must be capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and completing repetitive motions. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (approximately 6 hours or more incrementally per day). Must be
  • able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted, or 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must have a strong ability to problem solve and work without immediate oversight.
  • Follow production SOPs
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Bottling Line Technician

As part of Austin Co-Packing’s team, the Bottling Line Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep,
maintenance, and running of equipment in compliance with standard operating procedures in the
packaging facility. This is a hands-on position that requires technical skills in troubleshooting and
repairing packaging equipment. Technicians are expected to get involved, demonstrate ownership, and
continuously improve the equipment and processes. Candidates must be proficient in electrical,
mechanical, and compressed air practices.

Essential Duties:

  • Operates equipment in a safety-first manner
  • CIP of equipment pre and post bottling run
  • Complete reconfiguration of bottling lines in preparation for various product runs
  • Ensures proper operation during the simultaneous running of the filler and labeler, including
    following all departmental and quality standards
  • Must be able to follow and perform machine maintenance schedules
  • Clean, lubricate, reassemble, install, troubleshoot, and adjust assembly line equipment to meet
    yearly and daily maintenance requirements
  • Leading in repair and assisting in overhaul of machinery
  • Documents line performance & related issues
  • Develop and train equipment SOPs
  • Complete off-line assignments as directed by the Team Lead
  • Monitor and report any safety concerns including work related injuries, etc.
  • Abide by all EPA and OSHA regulations

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have strong electrical and mechanical skills
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bottling line/high-speed filling operation experience 
  • GAI and Makro equipment experience preferred

Required Competencies

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day, can lift items up to 50 lbs., and perform functions at a
    significant work pace to meet deadlines as established.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of
    employees/staff/vendors/visitors.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain
    flexibility as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to complete paperwork and/or production boards associated with this position.

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $18.00 – $23.00 Per Hour

Material Handler

Reports to: Inventory Control Manager

This newly created position will be responsible for receiving, shipping, and storing raw materials and finished goods at our facilities located in Austin, Manor, Hutto and Staples, Texas, as well as other related assigned duties.

Required Competencies

  • Detail orientated 
  • Organized
  • Self-motivated 
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision

Education/Experience

  • Warehouse background a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Prior forklift experience 
  • Prior experience driving a box style truck or similar 
  • Valid TX driver’s license

Packaging Associate

Packaging Associates are responsible for miscellaneous labor functions to maintain operations of the packaging facility in compliance with all standard operating procedures; safety and quality, to efficiently manufacture products. Daily responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Fill in for various positions on the line (training will be provided)
  • Assist in line changeovers as needed
  • Assist the Team Lead with troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Support the In-line bottler including keeping the line supplied with raw materials, clearing out jams, stacking and unstacking finished case goods, inspecting product, and performing rework as necessary
  • Support the Rotary line bottler including keeping the line supplied with raw materials, clearing out jams, stacking and unstacking finished case goods, inspecting product, and performing rework as necessary
  • Complete off-line assignments as directed by the Team Lead
  • Operates equipment in a safety-first manner
  • Monitor and report any safety concerns including work related injuries, etc.
  • Housekeeping throughout the facility
  • Abide by all EPA and OSHA regulations

Responsibilities may lead to

  • Batching client products
  • Blending various whiskey or gin products
  • Development of in-house and client products

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Have strong mechanical skills
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous industrial experience (ex. car part manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, industrial warehouse, or food and beverage industry)

Required Competencies

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to stand for 7-8 hours per day, can lift items up to 50 lbs., and perform functions at a significant work pace to meet deadlines as established.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate all levels of employees/staff/vendors/visitors.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain flexibility, as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
